The All Progressives Congress candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, has been declared the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Kayode Adebowale, the election’s Chief Returning Officer, declared the APC and its candidate winners in the early hours of Sunday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
According to Adebowale, Oyebanji received 187,057 votes, beating out his closest rivals, Engr. Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party and Chief Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party.
While Oni received 82,211 votes, Kolawole received 67,457 votes.
Oyebanji won 15 of the state’s 16 local government areas, while Kolawole won one.
In Efon Local Government Area, the PDP candidate won.
The PDP candidate secured victory in Efon Local Government Area.
