The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Benjamin Omale, has announced the establishment of a reconciliation committee tasked with visiting all 23 Local Government Areas to address grievances among party members.
Omale, speaking over the weekend during a meeting with the Benue State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), emphasized the leadership’s commitment to fostering unity within the party. He outlined a six-month mandate focused on restoring harmony among members.
“A reconciliation committee has been formed to engage with our members across the state,” Omale stated, expressing confidence that peace would be restored before their term concludes.
He also called for media collaboration, urging journalists to prioritize accuracy in their reporting and highlight the state’s developmental progress under Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Prof. Bem Angwe, Secretary of the reconciliation committee, appealed to discontented members to resolve their differences and warned against actions that could destabilize the party.
The NUJ leadership’s visit aimed to strengthen ties with the ruling party and discuss the upcoming delegates’ election.
