In a tragic incident early Monday, bandits attacked the Kwassam community in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing one Dr. Ishaya and abducting eight locals. The police in Kaduna have yet to issue a statement on the incident.
According to a source from the community, the attack occurred in the early hours, with the bandits making away with an undetermined amount of property belonging to the residents.
The abducted individuals include Mr. Dan’iya Barau, Mrs. Bitrust Dan’iya, Mrs. Esther Magada, Mr. Buba Mu’azu Tanko, Mr. Philip, Mr. Joshua Cyrus, and Miss Bege Ezekiel. Another victim, Mr. Joffrey Ezekiel, was also abducted but managed to escape and return home safely.
“The community is now calm, and people have continued to pursue their means of livelihood,” the source, who requested anonymity, reported.
This latest attack adds to the growing insecurity in Kaduna State, where banditry and kidnappings have become increasingly common.
