A Benin High Court on Friday ordered the remand of Sunday Divine, 25, and Chijioke Odoria, 27, in Edo Police Command custody over alleged robbery.
Justice Williams Aziegbemhin declined to take the defendants’ pleas and adjourned the case until April 1 for the completion of the investigation.
Prosecutor Emmanuel Ekibade told the court that the defendants conspired to rob Kingsley Ehanire of his tricycle on March 11 at Isihor, Benin. The charges violate Section 1 (1) (a) of the Robbery and Firearms Special Provisions Act.
Ekibade requested that the defendants remain in custody pending further investigation.
