The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has indefinitely suspended three lecturers over alleged extortion and manipulation of student grades.
The action follows a report by the ESUCOM Disciplinary Committee, which was reviewed by the university’s Management Committee tasked with investigating academic misconduct.
The affected staff are:
- Dr. Ezugwu Samuel Ndubuisi (Department of Anatomy)
- Dr. Ugwuishi Emeka (Department of Physiology)
- Dr. Nwafor Charles (Department of Physiology)
Their suspension took effect from January 23, 2025, pending further investigations by the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee.
Additionally, a student from the Medical Laboratory Science Department, ThankGod Chinonso Obi, was also suspended for allegedly assisting in the fraudulent activities.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, signed the suspension letter dated January 29, 2025.
