A massive fire that broke out at midnight has destroyed property worth millions of Naira at Aleshinloye Market in Ibadan, Oyo State. The blaze has caused widespread damage in parts of the bustling market area.
General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday morning. “Men are currently working at Aleshinloye Market. We thank the management of SWEETCO for releasing their truck and men. Very massive,” he said, expressing gratitude to SWEETCO and Sumal for their prompt support in getting firefighting crews on the scene.
The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, and further details are expected to be released as investigations continue.
