Former Senate President and PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Adolphus Wabara, has revealed ongoing efforts to bring Abia State Governor Alex Otti back into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at the 80th birthday celebration of PDP chieftain Dr. Eme Okoro in Umuahia on Sunday, Wabara addressed his recent botched suspension by some PDP members. His alleged offense? Commending Otti’s developmental projects—particularly the reconstruction of Port Harcourt Road in Aba.

“Even a blind man can see what is happening in Abia,” Wabara stated, insisting his praise for Otti was “evidence-based”, not political. He argued that governance should be separate from party politics and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the PDP.

While acknowledging Otti’s leadership, Wabara also lauded Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, saying both had set new standards for development in the Southeast.

Otti, in response, thanked Wabara and Okoro for their remarks, calling them “true elders” and urging politicians to prioritize governance over political rivalries.

The event, attended by key political figures, underscored shifting alliances and political calculations ahead of 2027.
