Three suspected kidnappers were apprehended by Ekiti police in a forest near Ijan-Ekiti.
DSP On Monday, police spokesman Sunday Abutu said in Ado-Ekiti that those arrested were Abdullahi Musa, 38, Abdullahi Ali, 25, and Abdullahi Suleiman, 19.
He stated that the achievement was part of the police department’s renewed efforts to rid Ekiti of kidnappers and other criminals.
He claimed that operatives, working with vigilantes, pursued and apprehended the three suspected kidnappers in the town’s deep forest.
Abutu went on to say that the suspects confessed to a string of kidnappings in Ekiti.
“They mentioned two such kidnappings in Ikere-Ekiti and claimed to have seven members, four of whom are still at large.
“Efforts are being made to apprehend fleeing members of the syndicate,” Abutu said.
