Two farmers, Batemue Philip Ebo and Christopher Bello, were killed on Monday in Okpekpe, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, in an attack by suspected herdsmen. Edo Police Command spokesperson CSP Moses Yamu confirmed the incident, saying security has been tightened to track the perpetrators and prevent further violence.
The attack comes just days after 23 farmers were feared killed in Ovia South West Local Government, sparking fresh concerns over rural insecurity in the state.
